City of Owasso

A Great Place to Live

One of  one of America’s most liveable metropolitan areas, Owasso is  an ideal place to build a home, grow a business, raise a family and enjoy a high quality of life. The city offers affordable homes, quality healthcare — including two full-service state-of-the-art hospitals — diverse shopping and dining options, excellent public and private education, a low crime rate, an agreeable climate and exciting arts and cultural amenities.

The Best of Both Worlds

Owasso is a growing, sophisticated community which offers easy access to the excitement of  Tulsa. Meanwhile, its residents enjoy a hometown environment that includes numerous Owasso parks, trails and recreational amenities, community events such as The Gathering on Main, Harvest Festival, Holiday parades and neighborhood block parties.

Location Advantage

One of Owasso's key strengths is its strategic location and immediate accessibility to the Tulsa International Airport, the Tulsa Port of Catoosa, and the Cherokee Industrial Park. With air, rail, interstate, water and intermodal transportation, Owasso’s location provides access to 18.9 million people within a 250-mile radius.

Approximately 700,000 people live within a 30-minute drive of downtown Owasso; more than 1 million people live within 50 miles of Owasso’s downtown. The unique alignment of the region's highway system makes Owasso the collection point for consumers in a 4,300+ square mile area. U.S. Highways 75 and 169 are major north/south freeways that feed into Owasso. State Highway 20 feeds residents to the west and east of Owasso. This "funnel" effect is the combination of several cities in northeastern Oklahoma and southern Kansas that have little or no retail in their local areas. Traffic counts and the success of national retailers who locate in Owasso attest that the area draws people and revenue from nearby areas.

Home to a Variety of Industries

Major industries in the Owasso area include aerospace, healthcare, energy, machinery, and transportation, distribution and logistics. Industry clusters positioned to grow in the Owasso area include aerospace parts manufacturing, metal manufacturing, destination and R&D medical, office/headquarters, and information technology.

A Skilled and Educated Workforce

Owasso's accessibility, educational opportunities, shopping, charm and quality of life have made this community home to many of those who work for Tulsa regional anchor employers. Business executives give high marks to the quality of life in Owasso — a key factor in recruiting and retaining workers. A robust educational system prepares the workforce with the necessary  skills for today’s workplace.

Owasso employers have no trouble finding the highly-skilled workforce they need to drive and support their company's growth.

Business Incentives

Owasso implemented an incentives policy in 2018 to support business attraction and growth.  Each request is uniquely evaluated and considered based on several impacting factors. For more information, view Owasso’s incentives policy guide.
