Broken Arrow is located in the northeastern corner of Oklahoma, adjacent to Tulsa. Named “the most livable small city in America,” its residential population is 115,000, making it the fourth largest city in the state. With over 1 million people within a 40-mile radius, it offers a vibrant city experience within a suburban, family-oriented community.

It is currently ranked third in its concentration of manufacturers in the state, with over 300 companies engaged in that sector and more than 6,000 jobs in manufacturing. These companies make products ranging from heat exchangers and flight simulators to medical-grade glass and food manufacturing.
It is also home to a wide range of healthcare facilities and social services agencies, from full-service hospitals, primary doctors, specialty medicine clinics, nursing homes, home health care services, and outpatient surgery centers. Oxford Healthcare and St John Broken Arrow Medical Center, together employ approximately 700 people. The healthcare sector has seen strong growth over the last several years and that growth is expected to continue.
Broken Arrow’s growing retail sector not only creates new jobs in the community, but also provides a varied and modern shopping experience, ranging from downtown boutique shops to luxury shopping destinations. With nearly 7,000 people employed in the retail industry, Broken Arrow saw over $1.5 billion in taxable goods sold in 2019.

The City of Broken Arrow enjoys easy access to transportation and distribution resources such as air service, highways, and port.
The city is easily connected to the world via the Tulsa International Airport (TUL) just 20 minutes away, with non-stop flights to over a dozen major airport hubs in the United States, including Atlanta (ATL), Chicago (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and Los Angeles (LAX). Air cargo services are offered by multiple commercial airlines along with DHL, FedEx, UPS, and the U.S. Postal Service.
It is also connected to major highway infrastructure. State Highway 51 traverses Broken Arrow while the Creek Turnpike connects around the South and East sides of the city connecting residents to Interstate 44 and Highway 169.
The city is located less than 30 minutes from the Tulsa Port of Catoosa, and less than 40 minutes from the Port of Muskogee making port access easy and affordable.
Broken Arrow is crossed diagonally by Union Pacific rail that services many companies throughout Broken Arrow and the greater Tulsa region.
A Solid, Skilled Workforce
The city of Broken Arrow has a labor force of 61,645, and there is a total labor force of 574,349 within a 45-mile drive. 94% of Broken Arrow residents hold a highschool degree or higher, compared to just 88% across the nation.
The community begins preparing students for careers in manufacturing in High School through Broken Arrow Public School's Project Pathways Program and students can then plug into Tulsa Tech's manufacturing program on the Broken Arrow campus. The facility offers both high school and adult students the opportunity to train for multiple disciplines within the manufacturing industry from machining to mechatronics.
Additionally, Broken Arrow has been designated as a Workforce Center for Excellence in STEM education by the Oklahoma Works Together Program. One of only nine communities designated as a Workforce Center for Excellence, Broken Arrow is dedicated to creating a navigable ecosystem for STEM education, training, and career pathways that meet industry needs.
The City of Broken Arrow can provide incentives in the form of infrastructure improvements, land or buildings based on average wages and/or economic impact of the project. Tax Increment Financing may also be considered to pay for infrastructure improvements. These and other incentives are subject to the appropriate approvals through the various city and county authorities.
