Growing northeast Oklahoma's diverse talent pipeline

The Tulsa's NextGEN Talent externship experience was created to ensure a bright, diverse group of students are connected to business leaders and career opportunities in Tulsa before they leave for college.


This initiative will increase the visibility of young, college-bound and entrepreneurially-minded students and increase economic access and mobility for underrepresented students, specifically African American students. The externship will place 20-30 Black juniors and seniors from Tulsa area schools for three weeks in a Tulsa-area company for career exploration and experiential learning. This is a paid externship opportunity, and students will receive a generous stipend upon completion.

Sponsor a student

We are currently accepting sponsorships from businesses that would like to participate in this initiative. We are seeking businesses and entrepreneurs who can provide career exploration interaction, C-level access, job shadowing opportunities and a meaningful experience during the three-week externship.

  • Increasing economic access for underrepresented students in the region.
  • Providing meaningful career exploration and professional development to students.
  • Preparing students for college and their future careers.
